Pasupu & Kunkuma
A haldi morning that turned into a water fight
PROJECT DETAILS
EDITORIAL NARRATIVE
Haldi is the one function where nobody is posing, which makes it our favourite to shoot. This one started as a polite turmeric application on a terrace in Jubilee Hills and ended with every cousin soaked and three of us changing lenses under an umbrella. We shoot haldi with weather-sealed bodies and zero hesitation — the best frames are always the ones taken after the photographer gives up on staying clean.
“We have never laughed that hard. Somehow they caught every single second of it.”
Garlands and turmeric, laid out before the aunts arrive
Five aunts, one bride, no escape
The moment the buckets came out
Ten minutes of quiet, somewhere in the middle of it
