I shot my first wedding in 2015, in a function hall in Kukatpally, on a camera I had borrowed from a friend. Vaaradhi grew out of that — slowly, one family recommending us to the next, until we had a studio on Road No. 36 and a team of six.
We have photographed more than four hundred and fifty functions across the city — palace weddings at Falaknuma, three-day affairs at Shilpakala Vedika, and plenty of small barasalas in a grandmother's living room. The scale changes. The way we work does not.
No blinding video lights through the ceremony, no pulling the couple away from their own reception for an hour of posing, and no plastic-smooth retouching of anyone's face. Natural light where it exists, discreet lighting where it does not, and colour that still looks like the room you were standing in.
The priest, the elders and your relatives come first. We work the edges of the mandapam, never the middle of it.
The whole team speaks all three, so your grandparents can tell us what they want directly.
